I am curious as to what the average weight loss per week is?  I am about 3 months out and am averaging 3 pounds a week and I wondered if that is average? Thanks - Joanna

I only weigh every 2 weeks so I can avoid a lot of the hand-wringing some of you go through.  The most I've lost in a 2 week period is 19 pounds.  That was when I amped up my walking and gym routine.  I keep a spreadsheet with my weigh-ins and I calculate that I'm losing around .75 pounds per day.  I know it's different for men than it is for women.

You can't compare to others pound-wise. Percentage-wise would be slightly more accurate.

At about 3 months I was averaging about 1-2 pounds per week.  I would not lose anything for about 2 weeks in a row, then I'd lose 4 or 5 pounds in the 3rd week.  Then back to nothing for 2 weeks.   Each person is different.  And the further out you get the slower the weight loss becomes. Pam

My weightloss is currently just the same as Pam described.  I only lost 10 lbs in the last 5 weeks.  But TEN POUNDS IS GOOD.  (It's not the 50 I lost in the 1st 8 weeks, but IT'S ALL GOOD!)

My Doc said that if you average about 1 pound a week, this is a healthy way to go.  Human nature is that we want to see results faster, but, remember how long it took us to get to our highest weight.
