I think I am ready to give up

Just wanted to add my two cents in. I was worried about my weightloss at first, because it seemed like it wasn't coming. But I lost 17 lbs on the 10 pre-op liquid diet and my body had to have a time to catch up. So for a few weeks, I didn't lose rapidly. Since then it has been fairly consistent. Hang in there.

They are anorexic because their bodies are withering away.  They are not healthy and do not look healthy, they are slowly dying!!!!!!! Up your calories and pace yourself, I consider you a lightweight and therefore you lose differently than some of us. Follow the rules and you will lose!!!  STALLS HAPPEN AmyBeth

I started off with slow weight loss and was really disappointed.  I needed more protein and variety in my diet.  Once I could add a few veggies and the odd potato here & there the weight started to come off more easily.   Meeting with the nut should help you.  I think you need more food not less.  Your body thinks it is starving.  Good luck!!!

We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore,
is not an act but a habit.

I had a 7 week (yes thats 7 weeks) stall after surgery. I was wiggling around 293 pounds for 7 long weeks. I lost 9 pounds in the 2 week pre op diet and 25 pounds the week after surgery. Then NOTHING for 7 weeks. I was eating 200 - 400 calories a day.  I read at least 1 post every day saying the same thing yours is. Most of those people are losing again. Some are at goal, under goal or right on the verge of goal. They probably look back on those first few terrifying months like it was a dream (a bad one). Personally I wasnt on OH during my stall. I wasnt in contact with any wls patients or medical professionals either. I spent those 7 weeks thinking "see I told ya so!" People think its soooo easy to lose weight and diet when you are that big. Then to eat almost nothing and still not lose weight? Well to be honest I felt vindicated. Like it wasnt all in my head and  I wasnt just a quitter and weak. By the time I was in that stall I had already done the most drastic thing possible and there was only one thing left to do, nothing. I didnt like the stall but I was healing and doing everything I could on MY part. If my body wasnt going to lose weight after all of that, there was no point in getting upset over it.  Well today Im 183 pounds lighter and here to say, it passes. It happens to almost everyone in the first couple of months from a week to many weeks depending on how weight loss resistant you are and how much you lost already. So nothing to give up sweety. Just keep going one day at a time and before you know it you will be looking back on this painful time too :) HUGS PK
