Having just spent three weeks in China I can tell you that I only saw 2 fat Chinese people. Yes, there is fast food in China, but the thing that is going to contribute to their expanding waistline (if it happens) is not going to be fast food, it is because more and more people own automobiles because the government is allowing people to take out loans to buy them when before (and I can't remember how long ago, but within the last 10 years I think) they had to pay all money up front to get a car. Fast food is definitely a contributing factor to so many Americans being obease, but I don' t think our government has any right to say who can eat there and who can't. This is ridiculous.

I don't think this is the answer. Just like a lot of others posted, if you want it bad enough you will find a way to get it, even if they turn you away at the register. I just hope it doesn't come down to people getting a McDealer. (Pssst. Could you score me a McValue Fry?) I think making changes to menu items is a great start. I offer my children better choices, because I don't want to repeat my struggles with weight for them. I'm not saying we don't get a burger sometimes, but ultimately it is our responsibility to monitor ourselves and our children. Portion control is a main factor here in the . We want a lot for the buck, no matter how much it "cost" us in the long run. Personally, much of my weight problem has been due to bad habits (and yes there is a genetic aspect to it as well)! I have relied on food for everything. I am using my unhealthy relationship with food to modify my actions as a parent so the cycle hopefully doesn't continue. Angeline
