I know this has probably been asked over and over but I am having my lapband/port removed then revision to sleeve in one swoop. I am thinking the removal may add a lot more soreness. Could be wrong. Is hospital stay generally 2 nights? Would like to hear from those that had it all done at once.
Second chance at using this amazing tool

Hi errbody, wow! It's been over 14 years since I've posted. I think my last entry was 2005 and I was down from 324 to 262 and feeling accomplished, healthy and good. My journey continued and I got down to186 my lowest, in 2008. Lots of transitions in my life good and challenging. Mostly good. Had an endoscopy and upper GI about a month ago, and found out my pouch is stretched out 100% to its original size, and my stoma's not only stretched, but now the shape of a banana.....huh? How's that happen lol? So to make a long entry short, I've been given a second chance to get back on track to health n wholeness.
On May 23, I'm scheduled for Apollo Overstitch revision surgery with Dr Jonathan Arad in Eat Chester N.Y. I was scheduled for the 9th, which I was soo excited about but, because it's a robotic surgery, a rep from the Apollo Endosurgery company has to be present, and he's on vacation that week. I was so down and frustrated, I'd changed my work schedule, made plans to stay at a friend's house that night, although it's a same day surgery, my loving wife's a little squeamish when it comes to those things, and she'd feel better knowing my needs, if any, were being met. I'm a woman of faith, so I still give God all glory for this to even be a possibility. I started researching revision surgery in January, when I was at my wits end, depressed, and wondering why am I not as full as quickly, or why can I gulp liquids? Yes, I take responsibility for not always doing the right thing, I've always and still see WLS as a tool, and not a miracle pill or quick fix. When I asked Dr Arad about my stretching he said, we didn't know in 2004 what we know today about WLS. Apollo Overstitch is a FULL thickness suture procedure through the entire gastric wall, where others are only partial thickness. My pouch and stoma will be tightened permanently. I know they'll be challenges adjusting to this new tightening, but I'm looking forward to the restriction and really listening to my body again, and renewed energy, weight loss, and feeling better about my self and all I've accomplished in my now 53 yrs. Promise I'll update on my recovery soon as I'm home. Part of doing it differently this time, I realize it takes a village to stay on track, so talk back at me lol... Michele

Some people get revision from RNY to DS. That is a very complicated and difficult procedure. Only a few docs n the world know how to do that correctly. Post the question on DS forum.
Or you can try to lose the weight using the tool you have. It may take you 1-2 years but it can be done. Dedication, proper diet- but it can be done.

Thank you. I appreciate your integrity and apology.
My apologies. I posted an old link and it was my own fault for not doing further research. It's been removed.
I am sincerely sorry.
edited for clarity: I was out of line and am very aware of that. No excuses.
I have a small hernia from being so badly constipated with my darn digestive disorders. But I am leaving it go because I don't want the darn scar to mess up my abdomen after all the plastic surgery that I had done.
I did not know they were doing the surgery 30-years ago. I think it is amazing that you had it done back then when so few people were doing it. I think it makes it easier now to go through because, well, everyone is doing it. It somehow makes it less scary in my mind (I had RNY in 2003).
Reading your story was a nail-biter. I can just imagine how you felt in that situation. But it was also inspiring because you mustered up your inner strength and beat the odds. Good for you. I am so very happy for your health and well-being. I am certain that I would not be here today if I had not had WLS.
So it seems that more intestine is bypassed in the ERNY than in the DS. One of my concerns is malnutrition. I know that you are about 9-mos out have you had any problems with nutrient deficiencies, hair falling out? And what did they tell you to follow for a nutritional regimen because I have not seen one for the ERNY?
Thank you and congratulations on your second chance. And thank you for sharing.
I am going to guess you did not do well with reading comprehension in school.
Just to show everyone how foolish you are, I will entertain your ridiculous discovery with a retort. My Twitter account is under My Bariatric Life which I have been using since 2011. That is clearly indicated on that profile.
The old account that you link to was established in 2009 and that is clearly indicated on that profile. The photograph of me is also from 2009 when I was a size 14. The two dogs with me are long since dead, as are my parents who took that photo of me.
I did not realize it was kiddie hour at the pool here. And I won't entertain anymore of your childish rants. You clearly have a problem, perhaps envy, perhaps anger, or both.
I would post a recent pic of myself but I don't need to substantiate myself to you. Now go away. You bother me, kid.
I don't think I am the one who may be making up stories. Did you forget you have twitter followers?
edited to remove link that may have been a violation of OH TOS.

Hello,
I am in the same boat. My husband works for ATT. I had lap band done 3 times. Once to put in, 2nd because of a slip, and 3rd because of the port tube having a leak. Each time was a problem which I was too stupid to never take the dang thing out thinking ok this time it will work... Anyway I went to the Nicholson Clinic today and asked what should I do bypass or sleeve. He suggested to go for the bypass. I have manipulated my band so much I know how to work getting food down and my stoma is a little stretched. Not a big deal. But still. He also said that If I do this surgery. I will have to more than likely have two surgeries. One to remove it and let it heal and then come back because i prob have so much scar tissue it will be too difficult to do the surgery and a BIG risk. SO I am upset. Cash pay out of pocket is $18K and for the Sleeve is $10K in Dallas for Band removal and either surgery.Let me know how it goes for you. I am going to have to finance it all. If I can get a zero intrest that is the way to go. I can afford 6 years at 300 a month.
