Pain .. Please help

I have been experiencing such cramping pressure pain in chest and even in neck and around ears. I've really been having this discomfort for 24hrs. now. It hurts clear to my back. I went to Dr. Mon and he said I was doing great. He removed my GI tube. I'm 19 days post op. Has anyone had this or have any idea what I'm talking about. I had a open rny.

Linda, could your diaphragm have been bruised during the surgery? My was during my RNY in 1999. I had a pain (not up to my ears), but around the side/back. All the doctors figured it was a bruised diaphragm; from what they told me the diaphragm is 'man-handled' during WLS so it can get bruised rather easily. Also it will take a while to heal. Mine took several weeks and there wasn't anything I could do to help encourage it to heal quicker. Maybe you'll want to pose the possibility to your surgeon. Bonnie (San Antonio)
