Anyone have gastric stapling in early 80s

This thread is spectacular I was wondering where all of you are now and how you were doing.

Hi, I had a gastric bypass in 1982, lost probably 120 lbs and pretty quickly started to regain 99% of it back.  I had a general surgeon as I don't think bariatrics were even thought of back then and I also had no real nutrition support or guidance.  Anyway I have been very heavy all of my adult life and I am now (at age 51) scheduled for a stomaphyx procedure at TUFTS New England in Boston on Feb 1, 2008.  I will have to pay for this myself, so I will be VERY careful about what I put in my mouth.
