I saw the doc on thursday. He confirmed that my pouch is too large And more intestines should have been bypassed. He is going to put a lap band on my pouch. he says this is less risky than redoing my rny or converting to a DS. Just wanted to update. Hopefully my insurance approval will be speedy. karen

Wow, Karen. As I written before to you, I think sounds like a great solution. Many RnY patients eventually slow down with their weight loss even with malabsorption but have no way to get the pouch reduced again. Plus many LapBand patients need the extra boost of malabsorption through bypass. So maybe yours will be kind of a hybrid - with beneifts of both. Hopefully it will be a safer, more effective operation for you and get things jumpstarted. Plus - fingers crossed on the insurance approval. Sounds like a great choice, keep us posted on your progress, OK?
