My husband is getting a job through the county and they offer UHC. I am wondering if anyone had any luck getting revision through United Health Care?

Thanks

UHC covers WLS. The real question is if your employer has bought the rider that covers WLS for its employees. If the county didn't buy the rider, the insurance company won't pay for WLS.

Sorry what do you mean rider? Is this something I can call ahead of with UHC to find out? Thank you

no, you can't get that info from UH****il your husband becomes employed and has a policy number and I'd info.

He can find out from Human Resources or who if the county bought the coverage.

a"rider" is an extra policy that employers can buy in addition to the standard policy.

i will tell you, many insurance companies are starting to have " one WLS per lifetime" restrictions,so there is that too.

I'm going to have to pay cash for any revision I have. My husbands new company has an exclusion for WLS :/

I also self paid for the same reason. I had mine in MX. I suggest you check it out .it is a fraction of the cost and my care was excellent with no complications.i also had major plastic surgery in Mx.

I have UHC and the company i work for has really good WLS coverage. I want a revision and with 1 call I am approved. They assigned me a case worker through their dedicated Bariatric team and they have been great. All I had to do to qualify is have a high bmi, I do , and I had to have that meeting call with the assigned case worker and the next step is my case manager now want surgery dates. The dr office insurance specialist was floored when I met with her... I was like I am good to go, make the call. So I am taking out the band , covered, in Nov. Wishing you the best of luck.

I have UHC and getting revision in oct. but they put it in to the insurance as stomach surgery not weight loss. They are doing it for reflux and a hernia im pretty nervous about it. I was not expecting or wanting another surgery.
