Revision Update for May
Hello all,
As of this week, I've gotten all my pre-work done and weightloss goals met. The next step is the final consultation with my surgeon and then everything will be submitted to insurance for review. Keeping my fingers crossed that it will go quickly and get APPROVED.
I was debating on which revision I was going to get but, after reading and researching options, I've decided that the best option for me is Bypass so that's what I'm going with.
Send positive thoughts my way as I wrap up this part of the journey and hopefully get approval and quickly.
Appreciate it!!!
Kelly
Hi Linda,
It came down to 2 things. First, since I've already had a restrictive procedure, going to a different restrictive only procedure may not be quite as successful as I can be with restrictive plus malabsorbtion. Second, I've read quite a few situations of severe GERD developing with the sleeve and even higher chance revising from the band due to scar tissue. Those patients are revising to bypass to get rid of GERD so I decided I didn't want to chance having to do a 3rd surgery. I felt this was best for me.
My surgeon also does the revision in one surgery, thank goodness!
Good luck to you!
Thanks Kelly
Same reason I went bypass.
