Paperwork submitted for revision
it's been awhile since I have posted, but the paperwork has been submitted for revision to bypass due to horrible reflux. I'm nervous it might get denied. It's been going on for almost year and has only gotten worse. I've tried 3 different PPI's, Carafate, bland diet, and continued to lose weight, only for the reflux to get worse as time went on. My last upper GI done a month ago also showed dilation of my upper stomach. Fingers crossed it gets approved so I can be rid of this reflux.
I have severe GERD also. I had the VBG done in 2004. I've had GERD ever since. The route I took was to be referred from my Doctor that did my upper Gi to a surgeon in Toronto. He did a PH motility test for 24 hours. it confirmed my severe GERD and he said bypass surgery is required. He referred me back to my home city to start the process. I'm hoping this doesn't take long. He said I'd likely have surgery this summer. He never said anything about having to be approved? My weight is 175 and my height is 5"4. So i can't be approved based on that. Please post again as you recieve info. Good Luck
That's good news! Life will be so much better without that GERD.

I am doing well. I'm just over a month out from revision. This time around was a bit harder recovery wise but they ended up finding a hiatal hernia also while in there and repaired it. Otherwise I'm doin great! I haven't had any reflux since waking up from surgery.
