Molina band revision to gastric bypass- Looking for recommended surgeons in Houston,...
I'm following your post. I had the Molina Dacron band in the 1980's and it eroded in the 90's. A specialist in downtown Houston seemed to be familiar with the Molina band and told me I would 'pass' it. I met with a physician a couple of years ago in the Clear Lake area who was also familiar with the band. He told me it would require two surgeries. One to remove the band because it was attached with a clip and heal and a second to do another procedure. I'm 99% positive when Dr Molina did my surgery he didn't use the clip.
Hi Carolyn,
I have been trying to call you to see how your removal surgery went but have only been able to get a message to call back. Please call me I am trying to do find out as much as I can before I make my final decision about having mine removed. And I must find a doctor. Last time I tried to post my phone number they kicked it back so I am going to spell the numbers to see if I can get it out there. (four, three, two) Five, two, eight - five, nine, two, zero.
Anybody who has any helpful information regarding the removal I would love to hear from you as well.
Hello Ladies,So glad to find that I am not alone in this matter. I had this band done by Dr. Molina probably 16 years ago and I would love to get it removed. I still have issues with throwing up. Also does anybody have any idea if we can get our hands on our medical records anywhere? I know that Dr. Molina died and the Spring Branch Hospital had closed down. Just doing my due diligence and trying to gather any helpful information that I can regarding the removal of the band done by Dr. Marcel Molina. Any help or information will be very appreciated.
Hi ! My name is LaJuan I had my surgery with Dr. Marcel Molina in October of 1988. Here I am 34 years later. I have not had any problems at all with my surgery. I did exactly what they tought us I the seminar. No over eating or drinking and exercise. But I have been in search of him now for about a year. I just found out 7-20-22 that I have a huge ulcer and that the decron tube has grown into my stomach. Now I have to go through a very risky complicated surgery to remove all of the mesh and repair a lot of places in and on my stomach.
i have been very happy with my surgery. I maintained my weight at 120-125 for 33yr. This past year I have put 9lbs on and no matter what I do, I can't get the 9lbs off.
I wish you all the best and I hope everything goes well.
