VSG to RNY for GERD

I had sleeve in 2011 and 2015 revision to bypass due to acid and bile reflux.My Hiatal hernie failed so they fixed that again,Doing great,It changed the way some things tastes.No dumping if I eat right.Slower recovery but not bad.Took care of the refux issues and I can lay down to sleep now.No regrets.

How long were you off work. I found out I have a paraesophogeal hernia so that will be repaired at the same time

Am not working now.I depending on your job.I would 1 -2 weeks.Depends on how you feel too.

Kathy I'm in your predicament right now. I went in for RNY on may 5 2017 came out with VSG now 5 weeks later my dr is running tests and wants to convert me to RNY I've been in and out of the hospital since my surgery and this GERD is literally killing me. I know i can't live like this forever but i really don't want another surgery.

Let me know how testing goes! Are you doing barium swallow?

I did the barium swallow this week. It showed the hernia and reflux. Waiting now for an EGD

Oh wow..... hopefully you can have the hernia repaired. What was the barium swallow like? Did you have to drink a lot?

it wasn't too bad. I had to take a mouthful and swallow when he told me too. then drink some water. Maybe 6 ounces total
