Revision and drain

I had a revision on 4/3 (sleeve to bypass) due to severe reflux, vomiting and esophagitis. I had a JP drain removed today. Can anyone share experience with healing time? The wound is still leaking fluid.

What is a JP drain?

It's a Jackson Pratt drain. A tube left in to collect fluid after surgery

With my initial sleeve I had a JP and had to dress the hole for about 2 full weeks before it sealed. it drained a lot for the first few days after drain was removed. nothing to worry about, but my suggestion is to get some gauze pads and paper tape to dress it daily.

Thanks! That makes me feel better. The drainage has stopped on day 3. But I will keep changing dressing until my next md appt. they gave me a course of antibiotics because the wound did not look too great on the day it was removed
