Soooo my Revision friends,

I went to see my doctor last week, and my blood work and Stomach results were fine(stomach results, as in my pouch is still small). However the Doctor said, I did put a significant amount of weight on and asked me what I wanted to do, so I told him Revision.

My questions for you all...

  1. What Revision can I get, if my pouch is already small?
  2. How does insurance work leading up to Surgery? ( I have Aetna)
  3. Next visit, I have I'll ask what types of Revisions are available and which one is more safe then others as well as which one is the best, results wise.

4. Lastly, What are reasons for revision, is it the WEIGHT GAIN or something went wrong during SURGERY, POUCH ENLARGED? (please answer,I need answers)?

Why do you need a revision if your pouch is still small and working? If your pouch is still functioning, why not try going back to basics? I would try changing my diet before getting a revision. Revisions can be dangerous. Cut the carbs and eat dense protein and veggies to see if you still have restriction. We can eat a boat load of simple carbs but meat fills us up fast.

Most insurances have a "one weight loss surgery per lifetime" clause. The only way you will be able to get a revision if your insurance company has this clause is if you have a mechanical failure of the original surgery. Mechanical failures can be stretched stoma, fistula, severe GERD, etc. It sounds like you've been checked out and you do not have a mechanical failure.

Weight gain alone is not considered a mechanical failure. Many people have regain because they were not compliant with the post op diet and did not follow the WLS rules ( they began drinking with meals, eating portions that are too large, grazing, eating excessive carbs, etc). I don't know your story, so I don't know if you follow the rules or not.

Any surgery can be eaten around, causing weight gain. The surgery was never meant to do all the work. We have to learn to be rule followers to be successful.

If you proceed with a revision, make sure your surgeon has lots of experience with revisions.

  1. must say this, and I hope the people who were rude and not understanding see this.

I came on this Forum to gain a better understanding of Revisions, I have a hard exterior so I'm fine with the comments. However LET ME SCHOOL some of you, Having class and. etiquette will take you extremely far, if you know how to talk to people, I didn't come on here to be told what I should do, I came on here for insight, I'm a young lady who will make my own decisions however I thought some of you could answer simple questions but I see you cannot.

Watch your words ladies, hopefully you all went to a university that taught manners but by the looks of some of my responses, I see you did not.

If you don't have any encouraging words or anything knowledgeable to say, PLEAEE EXIT!

And for the record, I know exactly what I want to do, regarding Revision, none of your useless comments will change my mind. Now I'm going to get back to my students.

Have a great day, and take this time to be kind and don't say stupid ****! Thx

I won a prize for deportment at school and had etiquette classes at college. I also learned public speaking, pronunication, grammar, sentence construction, spelling, letter form and layout.

We young English ladies, and I use the term loosely, were moulded like Eliza Doolittle.

Not much evidence that the OP and I attended the same university

Ya'll also used to have an empire on which the sun never set. I guess that must have gone the way of manners and deportment as well.

I agree with Rocky. Having a second surgery, when your first one is still intact and fine, doesn't seem to be the right fix action.

Are you measuring and tracking everything you put into your mouth? Are you eating dense proteins? You can eat around any surgery and if you don't figure out why you gained the weight back, you'll be back here after revision as well, wondering why you gained weight again.

It is unwise to go through life only willing to accept the replies you wish to hear and then lashing out at people who don't appease you.
