How much do you lose with Revision?
Hi Everyone,
Been doing research but wanted to know everyone's experience with Revisions? How successful are they? and How much weight do you lose? I look at it as a second chance (for myself), but wondering whats everyone's progress and do you lose a certain amount or just a certain percentage?
Will be waiting for all your replies
Thankyou
Probably depends on revision from what to what and the reason for revision.
I had a lap band that broke. I gained to 30lbs heavier than pre-band weight. Down 81 lbs so far now that I have a tool that works (rny).

I revised from Lap band to RNY just over 8 months ago and I am down 158 pounds, and now am just 13 pounds from my goal! I admit I was concerned about weight loss after reading a few online posts stating the loss was slower after a revision. However for me I have not experienced that. I also do believe that we can be as successful as we allow ourselves to be. So I would say it varies depending on many factors.
Side note: Getting my lap band out has become the single best medical decision I have ever made. I didn't realize how adversely the band was effecting my body until it was removed.
Best of luck on your decision!

Thankyou so much for your reply, and congratulations on you weight loss! That's absolutely Awesome. I had Rny and put about 50 pounds back I loss 102, it was successful, however I fell off track, I'm up and down alot. My doc suggested Revision and I did my research and went to see a suggested Doctor in Philadelphia who is great, I had bloodwork done and upper Gi so I'll know on my next appointment which is later this month, wish me luck, and congratulations again.
I just did the same on March 13 2017. How did you have such great success? Just following instructions as per RNY?
I had my lap band removed 12/12/14 because it slipped and had the sleeve. My band was in 4 yrs. my weight lost wasnt that great with it..went from 260 down only 30 lbs. after the sleeve 2 yrs. I've been maintaining 171-173 lbs. I really wanted to go down to 160..but I really don't exercise other than walking about a mile every day weather permitting..I feel great since it was done.. lost alot evevy day for a few months then it just stopped..I think it was because I stopped buying protein and stopped shakes...My skin is very soft and mushy and I can't stand how it looks..I'm a young looking 73 and everyone says with the weight off I look so much younger. My problem right now is that I started since the holidays past to eat after dinner laying in bed watching tv which is a big no no..It's a bad habit I hd pre sleeve..I know that the scale stays the same up or down a few but my body looks larger in the butt.belly and hips. from not going to gym.. so my pass experience says I have o get a moving...but to you the sleeve is a great tool...just follow everything your told...
