VSG to RNY. 4 years post op. slight twist/fold in sleeve upper g.i. shows gerd and fluid ....

Good luck to you!  My insurance denied my VSG surgery because I wasn't high enough BMI and didn't have co-morbidity to qualify at a lower BMI.  However, they approved me for Hiatal Hernia repair and my surgeon did the sleeve for me at the same time. I think it's so awesome that our surgeon's have found a way to get our surgeries approved. It's so difficult when you've come this far and have these set backs. I just had my sleeve revision surgery on Friday. My doctor also put it through as a gasrtic sleeve resection with hiatal hernia repair. I'm in California and have Blue Sheild HMO.

Surgery was 2 weeks and 1 day ago.  So far I am doing well.  Was on clear liquids from the 17th to the 19th.  From the 20th to the 31st I was on full liquids.  I have started pureed foods and so far have found nothing that does not agree with me although i do eat very slowly.  Since the 17th I have lost 15 pounds.  I have 15-20 more to lose and I have set a goal of 2 pound weight loss per week.  I am using Lift by Atkins and Premier Protein shakes to get in the majority of my protein right now and getting about 90 grams in.  I am limiting carbs to less than 20.  Fats are staying around 10.  Reflux is mostly resolved, I have had a few issues but not anything like before.
