Shooting and some burning pain - band to rny
My surgery was last Monday 9/26. All went very well and my dr explained even before surgery that my port area was going to be the most painful part of recovery. Well it is, my left side is steadily screaming out. I'm taking Tylenol 3 and I'm able to get around pretty good. Today I have switched sides of the bed with hubby because I don't feel like I'm giving that side much of a rest, but now I'm feeling a different pain right at my bellybutton area which burns really badly. Could that be the staple line of the stomach and has anyone else had this particular pain? Going to check with the drs office in the a.m. but thought I'd ask you all about your experience.

Shooting and burning pain sounds like you might be developing an infection. At this point, I recommend calling your doc once you read this and then getting to ER or urgent care ASAP.

pain definition is so different for many people. I would suggest you call your surgeon, take pics etc....obviously if you have redness, oozing, temp..... but there are also many post op pains associated with healing and your surgery was about 10 days ago, which is expected......better call to be safe.....
