I had VBG in 2004 been throwing up solids for several year can't eat meat, bread, rice etc. just went for a scope and a barium swallow. scope showed my esophagus was extremely inflamed and was very narrow and he didn't feel comfortable dilating it with it so inflamed gave Carafate to try and help with the inflammation. barium swallow didn't go so well either. standing the barium was barely coming thru my esophagus and when it got to my pouch and was not empting well either when he laid me down everything I had taken down imminently came back up into my esophagus so he stopped the test . I went to the ER yesterday my blood pressure had dropped and was very dehydrated they said and I don't see my gastro doctor till the 29th of August. I feel so very frustrated I need some help but it is taking so long between doc appointments the throwing up has gotten worse and I don't know what to do.

Hello ,
I had VBG in June of 2004. I went from 234 to 126 I have gained about 40 to 50 lbs since then, mostly in the last 5 years, I have horrible reflux and have started throwing up my food a lot. I have an appointment with an gastroenterologist the end of this month. I started reading up on revisions and am floored that my VBG could be my reason for reflux, I had never even considered this. I have seen so many posts today of people having the revision to RYGB that have no reflux , have lost the added weight gained and overall feel like a new person. I am so excited to have some hope, can you tell my what the process was? What revision did you have done and how does it feel different, I am sorry, I just see your post of LIFE IS BETTER WITH NO BAND AND FREE AT LAST! and I couldn't even imagine.
Thank you so much!
Angela
