sleeve to rny revision

I'm scheduling revision surgery in August and I'm more than a little nervous to do this again. I have acid reflux and I can't control it with medication. Any advice or recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks

I had a sleeve and terrible acid reflux.  I would wake up choking on acid.  Since my revision to a RNY pouch nearly 6 years ago I have been reflux free.  No PPI's since the first 3 month period.  I was eating 2 or 3 a day prior.

I didn't have my revision due to the reflux, it was just a happy by product.

My revision from VSG to RNY is set for 7/1.  I've said before that I have the perfect sleeve, except it's trying to kill me!  I have no food intolerance, great restriction and great loss.  But I have to sleep sitting up or I wake up choking on acid, and the acid is impacting my ability to swallow.  I'm really nervous, not looking forward to another surgery, tired of losing out on vacation so I can spend time in the hospital, and sad to say goodbye to my sleeve, but when I see posts like Lady Tazz's I'm so hopeful and truly wish my surgery was tomorrow.  I'll definitely keep you up to date on how it goes and wish you luck on your revision.

Please keep us posted. It will be a relief not to wake up gasping for air and choking. It's a terrifying feeling. Best of luck. :)

Yikes, I didn't know waking up and choking on acid was 'a thing' with the sleeve.  I've been doing that for quite some time  :-/  I don't know much about RNY, perhaps it's time to look into it!

I'm scheduled for my revision on July 13, going back to Mexico from sleeve to RNY. I'm happy with my sleeve however i'm starting to regain a bit of weight back as well as being able to eat a bit more than i could in recent years. I was sleeved back in 2009 and in all i've gained approx 18 pounds back and I know that doesn't sound a lot but it's a lot to me and I don't want my weight gain to continue to increase.

Hey there, could you please let me know how all that goes. I've been thinking of doing the same but am a little afraid to do it.
