Revision from sleeve to RNY

Has anyone done this? What were your reasons for doing so and how did your surgeon respond to your request/inquiry about revision?

Many thanks,

Luch

My surgeon said he would not remove my band.  I told him I would find a new surgeon.  My surgeon removed my band.

I'm revising from VSG to bypass to fix my out of control reflux.  My surgeon was the one who made the determination it was necessary after we tried every med combo under the sun and nothing worked.

I'm trying to revise mine because it has no restriction. Just researching now.  I think your doctor is on the right track because reflux can lead to many problems in the future including Ensophogeal Cancer.  I lost a dear friend to that. Good luck with surgery if you get it.  I'm kind of fearful getting a revision from VSG to bypass.  I have gained and now weigh more that before both my previous surgeries ( lapband and VSG).

Good luck to you.  I'm nervous about revising because I have the perfect sleeve (aside from the fact its trying to kill me with acid) and I don't know how I'll respond to bypass.  But, anything has to be better than living with the acid I have now.  My surgery is set for 7/1

stacyrg,

I'm also revising to rny because of acid reflux. I'm waiting for insurance approval and will probably schedule in August. Best of luck to you! Keep us posted on how you do. I'm nervous about another surgery but the reflux is debilitating and aspiration is no joke.

Good luck to you on insurance coverage!  I'll definitely keep you updated. If you have any questions about how it goes, I'd be more than happy to share
