Beach hell lol  Yeah its been awhile since I've been in the water over there & it does get crazy crowded.

Yes Brighton is right next to CI. Think of a long beach, one end is CI, the other is Manhattan Beach & Brighton is right in the middle.

Kings Hwy is kinda funny, it doesn't go straight across but goes up at an angle. One end is near Bensonhurst/Gravesend, which is where I'm at, & it runs up & over thru Flatlands, Midwood & ends by East Flatbush/Brownsville.

Bags all packed, make sure you have the kind of shoes you can slide into, like mules, you're not gonna feel like bending over. Hmm, can't think of much else. I'm sure you probably have everything you need & more. Just having loose stretchy clothes was great for me, & because I was crazy tired, I wasn't into reading much, more into napping & watching TV.

Keep in mind, to get out the hospital, they're gonna make sure you can get your liquids down. The first 2 nights I was way tired & it took awhile for me to get it down, but the 3rd day I was so much better & couldn't wait to get out of there. Take it slow, walk around as soon as you can, it helps get the gas out. Sip,sip, sip, walk, walk, walk. Make sure you get all your prescriptions filled out b4 you leave so you can just go home & relax.

Good Luck & Speedy recovery!

HI I HAVE BEEN SEARCHING THE "SEARCH THIS FORUM" BUT CANT SEEM TO GET QUITE WHAT I AM ASKING ABOUT...  I WANTED TO KNOW PEOPLE'S OPINION ON HAVING THE REVISION FROM BAND TO SLEEVE: DO YOU THINK HAVING THE SLEEVE DONE 6 WEEKS OR MORE AFTER BAND REMOVAL IS BETTER THAN HAVING THE BAND REVISION TO SLEEVE IN ONE PROCEDURE.  I HAVE READ ALOT ABOUT THE DOCTORS WHO WOULD RATHER DO IT IN ONE PROCEDURE AND OTHERS THAT LIKE TO DO IT IN TWO.  DOES WAITING MAKE IT LIKE A FIRST TIME SURGERY ?  DO YOU LOSE MORE WEIGHT? ECT..

I WAS SUPPOSE TO GET THE SLEEVE DONE AT THE SAME TIME AS REMOVAL BUT WHEN DOC WENT IN THE BAND (TO OUR SURPRISE) HAD SLIPPED AND HURT MY STOMACH, SO I WOKE UP UNSLEEVED .  THIS WAS EXPLAINED TO ME BEFORE I WENT UNDER BUT WE REALLY DIDN'T HAVE ANY REASON TO THINK SOMETHING WOULD BE WRONG //  UPPER GI SHOWED NO INDICATIONS OF SUCH.

HOWEVER, I WAS PREPARED AND JUST HAVE TO WAIT TIL MAY 24TH.  14 MORE DAYS.

THANKS FOR THE RESPONSES JUST WANTED TO KNOW IF WAITING WAS BETTER THAN NOT.

The Standard Of Care (SoC) in the US and Mexico is to do it in one surgery assuming there is not a new slip or an erosion.  A new slip means inflammation.  An old slip it does not matter, the inflammation is gone by then.

If there is no new slip or erosion and the surgeon wants two surgeries it usually means one of two things.  Either he's not a revision surgeon and it is his limitations that are preventing one surgery or.... he gets more money for two surgeries.  Every now and again it is ins that requires two surgeries.

I had a band to sleeve in one surgery 8 years ago.  My band was not my best choice but in all fairness to me, I had a band in 2006, no US long term studies existed until 6/08.  It was in 6/08 when we realized just how bad the band is.  Poor weight loss, temporary, many complications, etc.  Since I went to an actual revision surgeon having it done in one surgery was no big deal.  I actually had  mine done when I was at goal.  I knew just removing the band would mean I'd be big as a house in no time. ;o)

Sleeves rock!  ;o)

Thanks for responding.   So it is safe to say it doesn't matter if you get the surgery in one or two procedures the outcome will be the same ?? as far as losing a certain amount of lbs.

i have exactly one wee****il surgery  next tues i will be sleeved. (God Willing)

oh another question, just read your response again.  You were at goal, so with the revision did you just maintain or did you lose more. how does that work?

Ohhh, I lost more.  I am very open and honest about those days.  I tell everyone... after the post op sleeve diet I went through my, "I look like a crack *****" stage.  I was so skinny my spine stuck out of my clothes.  It was embarrassing.  It was about six months before I could start gaining again.

In all fairness my surgeon did warn me but I laughed at him telling him that he didn't know ME!  I am the food QUEEN!  I will find a way to maintain my weight.  Yeah.. he was right.  But it worked out well in the end.

That was 6/08 and I am still happy with my sleeve.
