Hello,

I am going through a revision with United health care due to my sleeve being botched. I am just wondering how long it took to get an approval? It is a covered benefit to my policy. I just want to know how long it took to get an approval.

United Healthcare does have some plans that cover bariatric surgery, but your employer has to buy the Benoit for its employees. If the benefit is not bought, then it is an excluded procedure.

Hi, I'm not technically going in for revision, buuuuuuut, I'm hoping the fistula repair might be the reason I gained a lot of weight back after I got sick and hurt....(going to see surgeon next Wednesday to see if he will fix the problem).  My insurance, also UHC, will cover it as long as it is causing pain, and the Surgeon submits a pre-authorization.  Your surgeon just has send in a form, as far as I know.  I talked to the insurance company today to find this out.

Yes, I have to start the 6mos all over plus do all the testing. I just don't know if it's better to have the band out first or at the same time.

I was told from the United health care nurse they assigned that I don't have to for a revision. I wish you luck as well :)

I think it depends on if you were botched. Mine was so that's why I don't have to wait.
