TRICARE Revision! Approved? Or Denied?

Has anyone had approval from Tricare for a revision recently???  And NOT from a military hospital?!  

I know now military hospitals are different than civilian hospitals and military approvals aren't as difficult. 

But I am trying to have a revision from a band I've been compliant with the band and diet since surgery and have band issues. 

Has as anyone had approval or denial from tricare recently and why?

I had one in Oct.  I was denied in Sept., but some research and pushing got it done on 13 Oct.  It was band to RNY.

I had RNY 12 years ago. My Tricare paid for it back then. My present surgeon says he doesn't think the first surgeon took enough of my stomach. He says it's longer than he would have left it, about twice the size he would have made it.

He is ready to do the surgery and I'm definitely ready to have it. However they are telling me at the hospital that the surgery I'm looking at is an "unlisted ICD code" and Tricare won't cover unlisted codes.

Has anyone else had this problem? How did you get around it--or did you?
