Revision on 11/24/15

I had to wait just over a month.  Some come back quicker though.

Good luck!

For my revision it took 2 days after they received all the paperwork they wanted.  Good luck!

I talked to the office on 1/12, they created a case with my insurance on 1/18, notes went in on 1/21 after I saw the surgeon (same surgeon that did my sleeve) and I had approval 1/26.  I have surgery 2/10 (less than a month after I found out it was an option).  My revision is due to EXTREME acid reflux and I already had an endoscopy with my GI Doctor.

Good luck :-)

WOW!!! Thank you for your encouraging reply . I also have had an egd and have ulcers and stomach polyps due to reflux from the band regardless of my fill level and have gained 45 lbs out of the 100 I lost . I'm SO hoping mine goes as quickly as yours ! So were you successful with your sleeve other than the reflux ? What are you revising to ?

I lost 93 pounds with my sleeve; however I gained most of it back due to eating bread to absorb the acid. I've been on multiple meds and dosages. My surgeon said he wished I'd come back earlier for the acid.  I had been going to my PCP.  I have a hiatal hernia after the sleeve. Wish I'd done the RNY to begin with. There's less of a chance of reflux with RNY than sleeve. The bariatric center I go to is PHENOMENAL.  They know I'm in pain and have done all they could to help!!

Thank you for the congrats :-)

I have reflux from my sleeve too. I was jumped at for posting an insurance question regarding revision. Congrats on receiving support from people on here. i have not had that encouragement. I already feel bad enough that I am even considering this revision and come here for support. I am glad to read your story and know that it has happened to others also. Please let us know how you do

Aetna had a board that met once a month to review and approve elective surgeries.  Mine was received a day after that board met so I had to wait until the next monthly meeting for approval.
