Sleeve To RNY

I am in this exaxt boat! Literally starting the process for the revision and the clinic I am going to is having me do an EGD and other testing to support documents for insurance request as well as 3 month nutrition and it all seems like such a process and expense. Sigh. Then since my BMI is under 40 now I am worried they won't approve me.

The main reason I had mine redone was because of the acid reflux and heartburn I had.

did you revise from sleeve to Rny for reflux? I'm consulting tomorrow for that reason. Can you tell me what your reflux was like? I was on 320 mg of pantropazole but my new pcp won't prescribe that dose for me. It was the only thing keeping me from choking to death at night. Did you have stomach pain or tenderness? Explosive flatuance? I'm just curious. How has the experience to rny been? worth the trade off?

Thanks, I'm new to this board and looking for others like me

Thank you cajunlady1958. How are you doing with your revision?

Hotchic, I don't see my doctor until next Wednesday. I will let you  know how it went.

Im not sure if it is different for all insurances but for me my insurance does NOT require all the testing for revisions.   You can call your insurance yourself just to ease your mind while you wait on the doctors office.   I DID.  lolol

Good Luck....

You just reminded me to make my pre-op appointment.

Many do require new testing if the last tests are older than a certain number of days.

But increasingly, more and more insurance companies are putting a limit on one WLS for life. All the more reason to make the right choice, because you may be stuck with it.

Hi, you don't have to deactivate your account & start a new one just to change your name. My original profile name is still 1lasttime, but you can change how your name appear in posts, that's how I changed it to T is Hagalicious Brown. I think it's when you click your name it'll show your settings & there's an option on whether you want to show your name, which you can change, or stay with your profile name which you might not be able to change.
