Im 6 years out and i am stuck...i gained 27 lbs. Trying very hard to get it off. Would I be a good candidate to get a revision surgery???

I've heard of revisions to make the pouch smaller and also fix the stoma(I think that's what it's called). I personally wouldn't have a revision for 27 lbs bc of the increased risks but that's just me. You would have to talk to a surgeon to see what their opinion is.

I just had a revision on 1/18/2016after 10yrs with RNY. My stoma was enlarged and my food bypassed my pouch. I would say before considering a revision of RNY go get an EGD to verify the current condition of your RNY. If everything looks good. Go back to the rules of the tool and see if that helps with your weight gain. Good luck.

I am gonna make an appointment. I just dont want to go back to my original doctor. Wonder if another dr would take me on as a patient.

I went back to the same surgeon but only because I knew my issues wasn't his fault and I also realized a lot has changed with the procedure since 10yrs ago. But I definitely think you shouldn't have a problem changing surgeons but do some research first.

After i got my surgery, I only saw him 3 times. No follow ups. I am gonna look for another Dr. Plus my insurance has changed. I still have a PPO. Was the surgery difficult? Anything I should know about?

What type of revision did you have?  RNY or banding?
