If we can come down I want to stay for a few day maybe a week in a perfect world. No you are not being noise I am a open book , . I told the lady at the phycology exam I want to get to 199 that as of today would be 132 pound loss. I want if just for one day in my life to be normal. I have been way overweight all my life. At 10 I was over 200 pounds I don't know how being normal would feel. I would accept 225 from the results I see that might be doable.

I not being noise. If you can if you can afford it have you ever though about you and your husband going on a cruise. My in-laws use to go all the time. Some Cruses at certain times of the year are quite reasonable.. My in-laws favorite cruse was to Alaska they were gone for 7 or 10 days. My mother in law still reves about it. They started going on Cruses when my mother in law sender that. My father in law was starting to fail. This would take away the stress of having to drive. Sad to say its not good for a diet they said all they did was eat

Don'****e to long as I have seen with my wife she failed .When she had her stroke her long term memory gone she doesn't remember our first date our wedding our son being born nothing. This part of her failing is most difficult for me to deal with. When your wife can't remember good times from.the past there is little to talk about her short term memory is off and on some days like today its bad winter months where it gets dark early we can't get out is bad on her. Every time she goes into the hospital each medical crises she fails a little faster.

I don't  , I not staying up sad stuff but what I am trying to say badly is do not Waite too long for you and your husband to do the most fun things you can. Sometimes memories can keep you going on bad days . My wife and I always wanted to drive cross country taking 3 or 4 weeks. The first thing that happen was I had a stroke at 40. When I was getting better my wife went into the wheel chair with a degrentive nerve disease. That killed those dreams. Try to make the best of each day is all . I have just seen that life has sad surprised I guess I have said too much am not being noise or preachy

I will let you go you are lucky no rain we are promised sun for tomorrow . Take care have a good evening.    Joe

I had sent you a private message once with my e-mail address if it. Might be nicer for us to chat about personal things where the whole OH community can't read it!

I would like to take a cruise but hubby has never seemed too keen. Plus he doesn't need to eat non stop. I am sure he would not stick to a low salt diet even though I know they cater to special needs. As we both know the sicker they get the harder it is on us. I don't want him off his diet more than for an occasional treat as I am the one it comes back on!

Do you have residual issues from your stroke? My husband was warned he was asking for a stroke and plain did not care or believe the Drs. He did not chose to remember what his father was like after multiple strokes. They told us when hubby had the big one that it was not the only stroke he has had.

His ability to reason things out is very poor. His spatial awareness is not good. Short term memory is getting worse and worse. I would not be surprised if he has Alzheimers, runs in his family. Dr doesn't pay much attention and says after a stroke it is hard to know what is going on. He would remember our wedding but not the date. I am sorry your wife cannot remember and share the joys of your life together in conversation with you.

Which surgery are you having? I would think any would give you a good chance at a loss of that amount.

No you are not preaching. You are saying just what I been trying to get through to my husband for years, many of them before his stroke. We watched our money and still do so we can do things at this point in life. We also are able to have a handyman  to help with the property. I am not up to doing plumbing and others repairs. Did them when I was younger but I too am getting older and am also far more tired since I do so many things my husband would have once done.

I hope you can get your week with your son. Have you been to Roanoke before? Great transportation museum if you like trains.

Off to enjoy coffee and just one bite of my husband's pie. One bite is treat and these days there is very little desire to eat more. Hope that encourages you.

Have a good evening.

My lasting effects from my stroke is loss of all side vision. I had short term memory loss that mostly is OK. The vision loss made the state to take my drivers license away . My wife turned me in to the DMV I had to go to court and the judge revoked it. They found I had my stroke because I had a  hole in my heart a birth defect had open heart surgery a few months after the stroke to close the hole. I was also left with seizure disorder. For now they are under control with medicstion

I am having the sleeve doc says he thinks this surgery would be the safest on me. If he finds any erosion from the lap band he will have to do a full bypass. He says he is removing lots of bands, he will no longer do them.

I know my wife's Dr. Does not take memory problems serious. When she was in the hospital all four times this year I asked them to test her to make sure there was no other problems except the stroke. My eyes opened up when I was set for hip surgery in sept. The last two surgeries I almost bleed to death it made me see I had to stop cancelling all my Dr appts I had to loose weigh and I had to have a plan in place in case I was put into the hospital. I think I have that it all covered.

I did not even think everyone can read what we are saying. I sent you a private message with my email address. I did not get yours so when you write I will have it.

It's been real nice talking with you today we both are dealing with similar tough situations. Write me anytime about anything in case you need someone to vent to.

Thank you have a great night

OK Joe I will look for your pm.

Our pastor had the same issue you did causing a stroke last Dec. He has had to leave our parish and is in an assisted living in VA beach. He has been greatly affected.

How do you get around without a DL?

The strangest thing with my stroke. They checked my cholesterol in the er it was 136 they ran it 3 times they could not believe how low. I ate all gressy foods my diet was the pits.after the stroke I ate everything right no fried foods no salt no junk foods. After doing surgery to close the hole I have had high cholesterol over250 no one can give me an answer why. I was really lucky  but had to go on life time blood thinners. I was a tool and die maker everything was sharp .I was put on disability because I was declared a dancer to myself and others. I tried and tried to find other work the hearing with social security said I was unemployable because.I had no transferrable skills and I could not drive they put me in total disability. It depressed me real bad I had real problems with it. When my wife got sick a few years later it became a blessing. We had an income with caution we were comfortable with. They say if God closes a door he opens a window somewhere.
