I wish you the best. I can only hope that as you become healthier, she will come around and be happy for you too. Spouses have their own emotions and fears to deal with, just as the patients do. Don't stop talking. Even if she is giving you the silent treatment, keep communicating.

Thank you  my wife finally opennup today. She told me she did not want me to have surgery because she fears I am going to die. I explained to her if I don't have the surgery I will surely die soon from medical problems. I tried to!assure her I am doing it as much for her as me. Thank you.   Joe

lol, I really thought a spouce was a fish that got cold.  A partner is a "SPOUSE". 

My boyfriend acted like a horse's ass pre-op and post-op until he saw that I was still me and I was okay and that I would still be in the land of the living.

You must go on no matter who is in your corner!  Being morbidly obese really ain't living.  Why wouldn't someone who loved you dearly not want you to have the best life!

Take good care friend.  ONWARD even if you have to leave a trail of dust behind.  You must save you so that you are able to care for anyone else.

Thank you for your kind words I was always good at math not spelling. My wife has started talking to me again. I found out she is afraid I will die in surgery I assured her that I won't die in surgery but if I did not have surgery I would surely die. We are talking about diets she helped me pick a protein power. I think she is onboard now I made sure she understood I was having surgery no discussion. I told her I was going to be selfish an I was doing this for me. In 46' years of being married I have neverv took a stand  it has always been a mutual decision not this time.
