study on Stomaphyx procedure (x-post from RNY forum)
For anyone considering self-pay for Stomaphyx (I have not heard of any insurance company covering it), there is a published study in the Journal of the American Medical Association that shows it to be almost useless.
I find it most interesting that the study was actually cut short because the findings up to the one year point showed no clinically significant weight loss compared to the control group.
So, please save your money...

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
I'm having a roux n y revision due to my pouch stretching I have began to eat more and have noticed significant weight gain. I also am having more trouble with my back and joints. I've taken diet pills prescribed by my surgeon and have lost some weight. Do you think revision is a good idea?
