I rarely post or read anymore, but I received notice that today is my 7-year anniversary of my first bariatric surgery, a LapBand, so I felt compelled to post. I'm also 9 months post-revision to a Gastric Sleeve (the absolute BEST decision!). As of today, I'm 136 pounds lighter than my highest and surgery weight of 298, and I have only 27 more pounds to get back to my ultimate goal of 135, which is 45 pounds less than my surgeon's original goal for me! I was there before, but it was because of bad complications from the Band and not from a healthy way of life. This time around will be much better!

So that's my update on this 7 year anniversary of the first surgery......thankfully, I'm still alive to write this today, and I'm healthier than ever!!!!

LapBanded February 18, 2008; 3 slips and nearly a death later, had band removal then a revision to VSG on May 12, 2014; best decision ever!!!

I'm so sorry you had to suffer like so many others of us have with the band. Here's to your NEW anniversary, the real one with the sleeve. May no more suffer because of the band!!!!
