VSG to ???

I just spoke with the coordinator from my surgeons office. Before we can move further, I must have an Endoscopy (EGD), does anyone know if this is routine or not and what my options are as far as a revision. I know I could have the duodenal switch but does anyone know of anything else ?? Thanks so much! :)

The EGD is to determine if your Sleeve had become larger than expected, and is VERY important in deciding what sort of revision, if any, will help you.

You CAN have your Sleeve revised to an RNY/gastric bypass, but the long-term stats show that the Sleeve and the RNY have pretty much the SAME results. The most logical---and effective!---revision to your VSG would be to a complete DS. You'd still have a fully-functional stomach, plus life-long malabsorption of a significant per centage of the calories you eat, especially calories from fat.
