Revision Band to Sleeve/Time off of work
Just had my band removed and wnt to the sleeve on dec. 17th. I feel good, but I can't imagine going back to work in 2 weeks. My docotr has me off for 6 weeks which is fi e with me in the middle of winter. I do have a question, did eithr of you have swelling in your feet? I feel like I don't get enough water down yet. But I.m trying. Get my frain out tomorrow. Can't wait. I haven't weighted myself yet, I wanted swellimg to be gone first. It's great seeing others progress.
Thanks
I'm having my band removed on Jan. 6 but my doctor wont do a revision until 3 months later. I understand why but hate to take off two times and don't want to wait another 3 months because i know me and i won't be able to stop my self from eating everything in site. He says I will be able to work with in a week of the first surgery but 4-6 weeks after the sleeve because I clean homes. If you can afford it take what you can. Good Luck
my band slipped In Sept so they took all the fluid out. Im scheduled for Sleeve on 1/13 where he will remove band and do sleeve all at once, provided no damage has occurred from my band. He told me to enjoy the holidays, well... Ive gained 25 pounds in 3.5 months. I dont think I over ate, but i just didnt eat healthy. First time I was able to eat pizza in 3 years. I had 3 pieces... but it was thin crust.... lol. My dr said 2 weeks should be fine since i have a desk job. Cannot lift anything over 5 lbs for 4 wks. I started my pre-op diet yesterday. See you on the losers side!
I was revised band to bypass and took 2 1/2 weeks off. I was pretty weak and tired - but I was fine at three weeks. There are a lot of factors to consider. General health, what kind of job you do, etc.
Good luck.
