The pouch, itself is meant to stretch over time to accomodate 1-1.25 cups of food. When there isn't food in it, it will shrink, but not back to the original size. The stoma, however isn't meant to be stretched or you won't have any restriction. The stoma (opening at bottom of pouch) is made since we don't have a pyloric valve, which is on our unused reminent stomach.
