Who has a revised distal RNY?

Me. I'm 4 weeks out...not sure how the whole thing is gonna go. Speaking of going...I seem to be doing a lot more of that since surgery. I've lost 17 pounds so far. Just started soft food yesterday.

Who did it, where and how much? Why did you not just get a DS?

I was not a candidate for a DS for several different medical reasons. I had it done in NYC, and would rather not mention my surgeon. I had the revision for medical reasons, less than weight loss. Prior to the revision, I had lost 40 pounds due to daily vomiting. I had 2 fistulas that were making me quite ill. Since my revision, no puking. If I never lose another pound, having the daily puke fest be over is amazing.

Sorry to hear about your complications but I am very happy you are better now. Thank God and I will not ask you anymore questions.

I had mine done on Wednesday 11/5/14. I'm still in pain and had my first bm today. I'll keep you posted. Dr Patrick Coates, Modesto ca.

Why did you choose the distal rny

The alternative was a 5-6 hour open procedure. I was not ready to do that. Also, Dr Coates has a great reputation and I respected his opinion.
