Anyone had a RNY revision with Dr. Duncan in Atlanta?
Not familiar with Dr. Duncan but my surgeon told me several times that I may not lose any weight with my revision. I'm not sure he told me that because I had failed so miserably the first time or what.
I had the revision because of unpleasant side effects and because I was very sick and I really didn't care about losing weight at that point. I just didn't want to keep gaining. I just didn't want to be sick any more.
I decided that since I was getting a second chance I would use my first WLS as a learning tool and give my revision a real shot by following the rules, which I never did the first time.
My weight loss exceeded my expectations because I addressed my eating issues and made changes in how I ate. I use my surgery as a tool now, something I didn't know how to do the first time.
