Complicated removal of eroded band?

Hi everyone.   I was told after an upper endoscopy a few weeks ago that my lap band has eroded into my stomach.  I met with a bariatric surgeon on Thursday and he seemed to think removing it is going to be very complicated and wanted to consult with a few other surgeons about it.  Apparently quite a bit of it is in my stomach.  To make matters worse, my insurance won't cover it.  Has anyone else had a complicated removal?  How long were you in the hospital? What was the surgery like?

All the people reporting of bands eroded thru the stomach have had to have them removed asap to prevent becoming septic which can be life threatening.  It can also cause the lower stomach to die off.

How long are they making you wait?
