Anyone revise from Band to VSG or RNY who had their band a long time?

I've had mine for 8 years.  I wondered if anyone had theirs removed for revision and what the experience was?  I've read about scar tissue causing issues, just curious if anyone had any problems with the revision?

Thanks!

I got mine in 2006, and was revised earlier this month.

I either had no scar tissue or erosion or so little that it didn't impact my revision to RNY in the same surgery. My surgery took a while, as all revisions do.  But it was on a Friday morning.  That night I was up and around.  The pain was pretty bad but I kept moving around as much as I could and they were so impressed they let me go home by lunch time on Sunday.  I'm sure they would have let me go either Sunday or Monday anyways, but I think it went fairly well as the nurses all seemed pretty impressed with my progress and my Dr even mentioned they'd been bragging about how well I was doing.

So far things are still going really well. This was the best thing I've done for myself!

Lap band 2/09 and removed 9/12.  Sleeved 1/13 and loving it.

BAND REMOVED 9-4-12-fought insurance to get sleeve and won! Sleeved 1/22/13! Five years out and trying to get that last 15 pounds back off.

Thanks everyone.  I see my surgeon tomorrow.  This seems to be a tougher decision than I imagined.
