Revision band to RNY... worried about denial (cigna and slippage)

Good luck to you too! I had to submit with a planned date too though so that's why I have it. But now I really have to focus on the 10% loss and I'm half way there though :)

Hey, just an update from my side. Looks like I was approved for a revision due to the complications I've had. I'm just waiting for a date now. 

What does your pre-op diet consist of?

Woo hoo:) were all going to be skinny soon ;) my pre op at the moment is protein shakes and veggies at lunch and dinner. 

Haha, but more importantly we won't have the GERD, reflux, discomfort and fear of a slipped band anymore.

What kind of protein shake are you having (brand). Is it flavored? Do you add anything like fruit, is that recommended? How far out did you need to start the pre-op diet?

So I got my surgery date today. I'm scheduled for my revision on 6/23/14. I have preop testing on 6/9/14 including an UGI. I'm super nervous now yet very excited to start this new chapter in my life.  Hope you get your approval soon ladygodiva! Good luck.

In my experience they delivered an answer fairly quickly. One thing to keep track of: insurance billing codes. See what the doc had billed out for in their pre-auth, and ensure that it is all included in their approval.

I got something in the mail that only listed the removal of the band, but NOT the revision billing code as approved...so super important to follow up in a case like that.

Are you opting for RNY or sleeve? Sorry if I missed this in the other posts.
