Failed Lap Band (09) revision to RNY (LAP) 4/17/2014
I was banded on 07/16/2008 and revised to RNY on 7/31/2013. Things went very well. I recovered very fast and was up and walking almost immediately. My surgeon released me from restrictions after only 3 1/2 weeks post-op and I resumed actively cycling and hiking. I have done very well losing another 55 pounds. I did have an episode of internal bleeding in mid October. The surgeon said they had no indication it was due to surgery. I recovered fast and they could find nothing to indicate where it bled from. I had a followup colonoscopy and upper GI last month. All was good. Good luck on your revision.

My RNY went smoothly. I had an 8am surgery and was awake in recovery around 1pm. I was in my room by 2pm and walking by 4pm.i felt great with little pain. I walked later that night. The next day I walked and was out of my room quite a bit. I was released the following day. I never walked less than a mile a day that first week. I generally walked 2 miles a day. I am an avid hiker and cyclist. My surgeon released me to normal exercise after only 3 weeks. Everyone recovers differently. I was in good physical shape and have always recovered fast from surgery. Best of luck. The more active you are. The faster you recover is my experience. Tom
