ds to medial rny

Hi all,

I had DS 7 years ago and my common channel was made on the shorter side 65 cm.  I am on and off with the vits; which is no bueno.... but I am also hungry all the time and a test shows that the stomach isn't really holding food like it should.  The revision has been approved and is set for 2/26. The plan is to lengthen the intestines to 100 cm to allow for better absorption of vits and to revise the stomach to medial RNY to limit food intake.  I have confidence in the surgeon's skills but am kind of freaking out.

Thoughts?

A common channel of 100 cm is not a medial anything! That's fairly short even for a DS, and it would be considered distal for an RNY. Also, adding another 35 cm of CC isn't going to help your absorption nearly as much as actually TAKING YOUR VITAMINS will.

I think this a very bad plan.
