Waiting on approval - BCBS NC

Hi all,

My paperwork was submitted on Tuesday and I'm waiting to hear back from insurance.  I had my RNY in 11/2007, lost down to 145, but am now back up to 235 (90 lbs, YIKES!).  Going through Dr. K requesting a revision to DS.  So the wait/weight is on. (haha, I'm so punny.     )  Anyone else have nay luck on getting approved for a revision through BCBS NC?

Good for you and Good Luck!  Just a fyi, it may not make any difference if others were approved or not at each policy can be different even with in BCBS NC.

My revision was denied by BSBC of NC, the peer to peer review was denied. Then my personal appeal was approved on day 29 of the 30 they are allowed to make a decision.

Hopefully yours will go smoothly!! If it does not... don't give up!!

Praying that you get approved the first time! I was denied almost immediately. I submitted an appeal and hired Lindstrom. I am still waiting and hopefully I will hear something soon. 

Well, phooey!  

I was denied.  They said it wasn't medically necessary according to their definition.  Dr. K and another radiologist are reviewing my UGI and I'll begin the appeal process.  I'll update and things progress.
