hi everyone, im new here and going to be having revision from LB to RNY... i have lost 66lbs so far before surgery but my surgeon wants me to lose 50 more in the next month.. I have been on liquids now for three weeks and have lost 25 lbs.. so im hoping i can do 50 in 30 days with some extra added exercise and more strict  liquids no veggies now..ill keep posting as long as this group stays friendly.... like the title says the RNY board isnt very nice...so far im a year into this process...

Awww, sorry they aren't friendly, but to me, they are except for one guy I cannot stand! LOL He's way too conscending and arrogrant.

246 in Dec 2008 before banded 1/28/09 at 215 lbs, band crapped 9/09 at 170 lbs and struggled with it and regained to 203 revised to bypass on 8/1/11 and am very happy.

Welcome!  Things are a bit tough on the RNY board - though it kind of comes and goes.  Regardless, you are doing great in your pre-op phase - I'm impressed!  Got to say the ungrade to RNY makes it worth it!

Wishing you continued success.  You can do it!

ummm what kind of surgeon expects someone to lose 50 lbs in 30 days with a LB?  you need a new surgeon...welcome aboard...

my surgeon doesn't expect me to loose 50 in 30..  that's my goal, and no i don't need a new surgeon...and FYI my lap band is busted there is nothing in it...

The confusion could be in your original post.

YOU stated your surgeon wanted you to lose 50 in the next month.

This will, and should, make any of us pause and question you and your surgeon.

I had the lab band placed three times and all three times they prolapsed so i went for a drastic surgery like the ds but even that came with problems now i have the rny but without the rest of stomach as that's been completely removed i don't know why the idiots didn't just re-sleeve me to much problems with malabsorbtion ad feeling tired all the time.

good luck on your surgery and all the best in your recovery too

Perhaps you can tell us why you think the RNY board is not very friendly?   I looked through every post you have made over there and couldn't find any where someone was unfriendly towards you ...

I couldn't find where the RNY board was not very nice to you.

Wow your surgeon seems to have issues with someone that needs to lose a significant amount of weight. 50 lbs in 30 days isn't an easy feat with a malabsorption surgery I can only imagine how difficult with a restriction only surgery. Good luck with your upcoming surgery and pre-op diet.
