More realistic ideal weight calculation?

Hi,
My surgeon's office gave me the site below to get an idea for ideal body weight. I like it better than BMI because it considers age.

http://www.halls.md/ideal-weight/body.htm

I found it especially interesting because it showed my ideal weight to be exactly what I "felt" was a good goal for me.

See if it works for you!

This calculator works against me.  I wonder why it's different for different people?

I don't know why there is such a variance.  I know my office uses it to help calculate % of weight loss but it's only one more tool.  Ideal weight is such a personal thing!

Lisa,

I did the calculation and the weight seems more realistic than the standard BMI weight charts. Mine puts me at 162. Kind of nice to think that that is only 16 pounds away for me.

Didn't work for me. I don't think 113-149 is realistic for me
