Even though I was not big on RNY that is why I had Band but I need to Lose weight not even for vanity it is health wise.

Howdy! In the same boat. I HATE this band and can't wait for it to be removed and have the bypass. WHY did I make such a bad choice when I chose the band? Best of luck. I'll be watching for your updates.

I had 7 long terrible years with the CRAPBAND.

My revision to RNY is the best thing I ever did.

I know it is just a tool... but it is a MUCH better tool than the band ever way.

Best of luck to you!!!

I had a Band for over 7 years too - wasn't hellish, but wasn't the effective tool I needed to be sucessful - then the complications started and now I am 6 weeks post-op RNY.  This is exactly what I was hoping for when I had the Band =

So far so good!  Wishing you luck on your journey...

Is the post op diet hard?   I ask because when I had my band it seems everything just got stuck and I so do not want that feeling again

For me nothing about this has been hard. Really. Early out, I had to remember to sip slowly. Now I'm eating small quantities of normal food, foods I couldn't eat with the band because I'd get stuck, slime, vomit etc. I've had chicken, pork, hamburger meat in chili, salmon, scallops, shrimp with not one single feeling of over fullness or stuck or tightness or pain. It's wonderful. It's not hard. It's fantastic to be normal again and be on track to loose weight.
RNY is completely different in every way for me. It's not hard at all.
Hope that helps! Cheers- Ashley

I had my band placed in February of 2010..Worst mistake I've ever made. Constant vomitting and food getting stuck. Getting revised to RNY on 2/24/14..Best of luck!

The RNY (for me) is what I wanted the band to be.

With the band, I got stuck all the time and felt like I was choking - but still hungry.

With the RNY I get FULL... not stuck.

I don't eat sugar - which I could with the band... but I don't need sugar.

The "diet" on RNY is easier than without it...
