And I mean literally, zero. I only have a little restriction now. I am exercising,,, I need to find a revision specialist in Georgia. What are the options for an RNYer? Is it a lost cause? So frustrated and feeling like a failure. I lost down to 160 lbs... And back up to 215...

I am guessing you had the Stomaphyx or ROSE or whatever the hell they call it.  I call it a waste of time and money since I have never seen one person who was successful after it.  Have you talked to a surgeon?  There are a few options but you need to find a good revision surgeon to find out what is best for you.

My surgeon was Paul Macik. I had it done 12/28/12, my STOMA was too large. I don't think he did the ROSE procedure . I see him for my 6 month ( late, I know) on October 1.

Don't you know what was done to your body?  Good grief girl, we're talking about your body!  You should know exactly what is being done, with pictures if necessary, before you go in to an operating room and have your body operated on.  Go back to your surgeon and get your surgical report and find out what was done before you know if your surgery was appropriate for your problem.

Wow. Thanks a lot. Being overweight has always been a source if shame and embarrassment for me. Talking about my weight is the absolute number one difficult thing to talk about.  Especially, when I'm talking about my failure. Thanks for the support.

No one is trying to shame you.  Being obese is a medical issue, not a moral failing.  If it was we would be living in a society full of degenerates.  You made a decision to address your problem and you did.  That is a good thing.  Now you are having more issues.  You can either turn things over to your surgeon and let him handle them, which it sounds like you have with no productive results, or you can take charge of your health, learn all you can about your permanently altered digestive system and find the best way to work on your problems for YOU!

A lot of people are passive when it comes to their health care.  I know I was.  I have no medical background or training so I trust those who do to make the decisions regarding my health.  That is fine to a point but as I have learned, doctors are not infallible and a lot of times they just go with their best guess.  I found this out when I was suffering from severe neck pain which could not be diagnosed through x rays and other diagnostic tools.  I saw many specialists and they all had a different reason for my pain.  Seriously.  Ultimately I had all my teeth extracted because of dental problems and the neck pain disappeared for good.

I also suffered from severe fatigue for several years, again not diagnosable by traditional means.  I was also given many different explanations.  That is when I finally realized the gravity of my decision to have WLS and the affects that the malabsorption had on my body.  I honestly knew little about what was done to me except it was supposed to make me eat less and absorb less then before.  I trusted my surgeon to take care of me.  Guess what?  I received absolutely no pre surgery education and practically no follow up other then yearly appointments with minimal lab work.  My eyes were opened and I knew I had to take responsibility for my health because I knew my body the best.  I also had to take responsibility for my weight and do a lot of soul searching to discover why I failed major WLS, a surgery that is the most powerful available and I still out ate it.  It wasn't due to the surgery, it was due to my choices, which were made because of my food addiction.  So I accepted that I had to make changes to my eating, surgery or not, or I would always be morbidly obese and progressively gain more and more weight.  I finally figured out that in order to lose weight and keep it off after surgery I had to do exactly what I had to do before surgery, limit portions and avoid certain foods.  The surgery is supposed to help me do it but I hadn't been using it that way.  I expected the surgery to do everything and I could go along as I always did, making no changes to my life what so ever and I would magically be thin forever.  It didn't work that way for me, although sometimes I hear about it working that way for others.  Because I am an individual and what works for you may not work for me and vice versa.  That is why I had to learn what I was working with and what would work for me.  I couldn't just expect the surgeon to do his job and then blame him when I didn't get the results I wanted when I didn't do my part at all.

Everybody here either is or has been morbidly obese. Having WLS is a major undertaking, and it's not unreasonable for us to expect you to understand what's been done to you. You have access to the internet, so you need to be doing some serious research.

The most effective revision for a failed RNY is to the DS, but there are very few surgeons qualified to do it. There's a list of such surgeons somewhere on this board, but it may be a page or two back by now.

Every single person that I have seen have a RNY to RNY revision report the same failure.  I am guessing your surgeon doesn't do DS or RNY to DS?  Many surgeons only do RNY or do RNY and band but feel RNY is the best.  As stated above do your research and find what you need to do for YOU.  Rather it is therapy, I started before my revision and I am so glad I have.  You may need to look into a RNY to DS revision and there are only a handful of surgeons qualified and experienced enough to do this.  Good luck and I hope you get the help you need.
