I was banded in oct 2007 at the weight of 306. I lost 50 pounds and that was it. I had horrible reflux. So now I'm getting Gastric Bypass on July 25. Im so scared. Bc I do have 2 small children. I hope that everything goes well for me. I can't wait to get this band out of my body. I hate it as much as it hates me.

Wishing you tons of success. I get my band removed and gastric bypass Aug 13. Same issues you have. Hoping for more weight loss and less feeling stuck and dealing with reflux.

Hi,

I see you live in WA.  So do I, and I'm probably revising to RNY since having my Band removed in May.  PM me if you are interested in sharing experiences.  I should be submitting to insurance Mid August and hope to have RNY surgery in October.

Best,

Lisa O.

I am with you on the band...I will have surgery on the 24th to a sleeve. I had 2 small children when I had the band put in. I simply told them about the surgery and that I would not be able to pick them up and take them places for a while. I did tell them we would have lots of snuggle time in my bed and I would watch movies or TV with them. it worked out perfectly and they were understanding and helpful. I did have everything very organized such as protein shakes etc... And that also was helpful. I also had paper and plastic items for them to use for eating and stocked up on easy meals such as lunchables etc...I took them to the grocery store and let them pick out their meals for the first week which also helped. Good luck to you and I hope all goes well for you. Stay calm. Everything will work out for you.
