Nausea... any thoughts?

I am 5 weeks post op band to sleeve... but I had some crazy complications, so I am still just doing full liquids.  I went back to work yesterday and other than being so exhausted, it's gone pretty well.  EXCEPT - I feel like I am on the verge of nauseous all the time.  Like there is a lump in my throat.  I thought it might be that I am moving around more, but not sure.

I ate some crystallized ginger, but not much help.  I have Zofran, but it makes me a little too sleepy for work.  Anyone else experience this??  Any suggestions??

Thanks!!

Tonya

You need to drink, and drink and drink. At least 64 oz per day, more is better.

Also take a PPI (protein pump inhibitor) like Prilosec 40 mg, about 1 hour before eating in the am, that too will help a lot with the nausea.

Good luck

Thanks!!  I take carafate as soon as I get up.  Then an hour later I have my breakfast.  I may take my PPI with me and take it about 10 am and see if it helps!  :)

Hi, I too had complications and was in the hospital for 3 weeks. Have your Doc call in a anti-nausia medicine. I was NPO for 8 weeks after surgery and I still needed it. When I started to introduce liquids by moth I took that and a PPI.

Your poor tummy has been through alot. It will take some time to get on track. I will be 6 months out next week and I still struggle. But I do have more good days then not.

Take good care
