BMI?
You really have to contact your own insurance company because some require high BMIs like a virgin surgery and others don't require any weight gain they go ahead and let you revise before you regain anything. So as usual the only way to find out is to check with your insurance, then you can decide if Mexico is what is going to have to happen. Good luck!

I had a revision of 21.8 at the time of my revision. I was band to sleeve but I knew if they just removed my band i would regain in no time.
i went to MX as well. Do your research well!!
I had my Band over Bypass done in Mexico also (on May 10th). I went to Dr Aceves in Mexicali. He is wonderful. The lowest BMI to qualify is 30. You fly into San Diego, someone picks you up and takes you straight to the hospital to do all of your preop tests, then surgery the next morning. You get there on a Thursday and leave Sunday.
I was also a self pay. I am only 8 days post op, down 13 lbs since the morning of surgery so far, 39 more to go..
Feel free to contact me if you have questions.
Good Luck!
One of the locals weighed only about 88# at the time she was revised from a MGB to a VSG in about 2007. She was within a very short time of being dead. Last I heard, her weight was up in the 110s and she was doing very well.

Has not weighed myself since 1/2010. Letting my clothes gauge my progress instead.
