This revision has been HELL!!!! Never, ever , ever do both in one surgery!

Began journey in 2007 at 312, had Lap band 2008, lost 40 pre-op then 24 post op, regained to 319.  Lost 39# on my own, then revised to VSG 4/29/13 @ 280.

My revision was one in one surgery as well. It was the most painful surgery I have ever had and I have had a total of seven. It gets better with time. I am two months out, still on liquids as I can not keep down mushies. I have lost 22 lbs and have stalled. I get dizzy but as long as I do not skip one of my three shakes I am okay.
Good luck hope you feel better soon.

Awww sorry you are having such a rough time, the first few days are pretty rough but hopefully they will improve day by day. If it is from pain be sure to ask for more pain meds if you need them. Most Rx say no refill but if you call the doc they can give you more. If it is nausea they can also give you zofran or something for nausea. Remember right now fluids are most important and protein if you can get it down. Sometimes people need room temp or warm drinks to get them down. Hang in there hon it'll get better, honest!

I can so relate. Had band to bypass on April 17 and again on April 18 except with the open version. After the first operation on the 17th, everything was going great...drinking, feeling pretty good, then they took me down for the swallow test and it showed what seemed to be a leak. My doctor was positive it wasn't a leak but the films showed otherwise. He had to go back in and what he found was that when the band was put in, your stomach is folded around the top of the band and stitched to keep it in place. What the swallow test was showing was fluid inside of the fold...Thank God no leak. Nevertheless, I'm suffering for it...two surgeries in 24 hours doesn't make me a happy girl. I would have been dancing by now with the first one, but with the second one being open I had 28 staples down the front of my stomach and two drains. I still have one and it probably won't come out for another two weeks. And my back is killing me. I have a mid-back issue anyway, but I guess being on the operating table twice just made it worse. I'm trying to keep my chin up and do everything that will make this move along. I'm not a very good patient. Sorry for the rambling....just needed to vent.

Stay strong....there's no turning back; all we can do is move forward.

Any time you have your band removed and revised the surgeon is suppose to remove that "hook"  the fold from being pulled over the band and stitched.  If not you can develop problems from stuff getting stuck in it.

BAND REMOVED 9-4-12-fought insurance to get sleeve and won! Sleeved 1/22/13! Five years out and trying to get that last 15 pounds back off.
