revision - losing slower and stalling :(
I had my revison almost 4 weeks ago. My weight loss has been stalled since my 1st week post op. Dropped 10 pounds them BAMM...nothing for almost 3 weeks. Has anyone else gone through this who could give me some encouragement? I am starting to think this surgery isn't going to work (if thats possible)....just dont want to get too bummed about it.
Don't worry for it will happen. Ten pounds in one week is a lot when one is a light weight. I lost slow and would go up to 3 wks with no loss and then drop several pounds. Thus, I only weighed every two or three weeks. I hit goal in under a year and haven't been able to exercise much. I tried to line dance and do back to back water aerobics but my knees couldn't take it. I do plan to start walking. My surgeon suggests to weigh daily after goal is reached so one can keep under a 5 pound gain. Have a GREAT day!
Banded Oct 2008: 290
RNY Feb 2012: 245
Dr's set goal: 170 reached Oct 11, 2012
My goal: 160 reached Dec 1, 2012
Today : 145-150
I am half the person I was in 2008.
let me tell you. i lost slow and steady.
I had my surgery on 10/8 weighed 212 at home
10/15 207.8
10/22 206
10/31 203
11/2 201.4
11/10 199.8
11/19 194
11/28 189
As you see I would not lose at times and then other times i would lose 3 -5 pounds.
I only averaged 2 to 3 pounds in the beginning and then i slowed down even more about 3 months. i lost slow but steady. My lowest was 149 and my goal was 145. so close. i have since gained. i honestly think i lost too much in my face when i weighed 149

Don't get discouraged. Read my blog. i haven't updated it in a while. Follow your dietary guidelines and don't deviate even though you know that you can eat the foods. Stay on liquids and progress as dr. ordered.
I had revision surgery Jan. 17th and like you i felt that i was at a stall early on and that the surgery wasn't working. At 3 weeks i was at a stand still for a couple of weeks.. Maybe a 1 lb loss. But, like others have said, stay with it. Once you accept the fact that the weight loss may be a little slower, and start to lose again you will feel better. Today i have finally hit the onederland. (199.8 lbs) I am finally not so obsessed with the daily wt but rather that it keeps going even if slowly.
Good luck, be patient. It will come off, just stick with your plan.
